I do not write with AI!

The majority of top Search Engine Optimization (SEO) professionals I've met in person and online believe that human content earns higher rankings on Google and Bing… period. It just makes sense, because AI is being trained on authentic, well researched and written, high value human content. Both Google and Bing are looking for “human signals”as critical ranking factors.

I'm old school. I still research each article carefully, take notes and then being writing your piece, edit it twice and proofread it manually. Each article I write is then checked by Originality.ai or GPTZero, and confirmed as both human written (over 90% chance it's "human") and free of plagiarism.

Human-created content is better at understanding and addressing user intent, offering unique insights, expertise, your distinct brand voice and perspective, and for genuinely helping your readers. This aligns with Google’s emphasis on E-E-A-T: Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. At this time, human content is still far more engaging, leading to higher user engagement metrics such as time on the page, click-through rate (CTR), and return visits.

Online forums are buzzing with AI "writers" complaining about their articles being de-listed on Google. This is no surprise to the old school SEOs like me. Why would Google or Bing list low value soon-to-be-outdated AI-generated content in their search engine results pages (SERPs) when their own Google Bard and Bing ChatGPT AI engines can spit out results on the fly that are up-to-the minute and more relevant?

I have been designing, researching and writing content for 38 years. In 1987 I began writing copy for magazine display ads, and some editorial content, and ten years later moved to digital on the web.
